The Chilika Bird Sanctuary is a paradise for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts. Located on the northern edge of Chilika Lake, near Mangalajodi and Nalabana Island, this region is one of Asia’s largest wintering grounds for migratory birds.

Every year, from November to February, thousands of birds migrate here from Siberia, Russia, Mongolia, and the Himalayas, creating a colorful spectacle across the sky and wetlands. The sanctuary is home to species like flamingos, herons, egrets, storks, pintails, ducks, and brahminy kites.
